Managing your collection

The primary aim of this Help is to document the functionality available in Axiell Collections and to demonstrate how to use it, and for the most part we do not advise you how to document or manage your collection. A topic like How to optimize system performance meets this objective by showing you how to work with features and functions in the software to keep the system running efficiently.

Topics like Object catalogue: how to create an object record are a little different as they go beyond the brief of documenting the system; such topics have been written for users who are looking for guidance about what data to enter when documenting collection items or processes. This is only intended as guidance and it is important to keep in mind that your institution may document items and processes differently than described here; however, it is hoped that these examples will help you better understand Axiell Collections in the context of managing a collection and recording details.

When creating a record we typically work in Record details View as it provides access to all available fields. Be sure to enable this View by selecting its button in the top Toolbar:

In the following examples we work with a key subset of fields. When adding data to fields, you may want to enable Help View as it provides guidance for almost all available fields. Enable this View by selecting its button in the top Toolbar:
